Native Seed & Plant Partnerships

Native Seed & Plant Partnerships (NSPPs) in southern Ontario have formed as an initiative to implement recommendations from the Southern Ontario Seed Strategy and are facilitated by Carolinian Canada and the Ontario Native Plant Growers Association (ONPGA).

NSPPs invite native plant growers, users, and distributors in five regions across southern Ontario to scale up the quantity and diversity of native seeds within a sustainable, ethical supply chain.

Each partnership will prioritize Indigenous engagement and leadership and reconciliation, focus on seed priorities that best serve their region ecologically and culturally, and connect with markets for ecosystem restoration, retail gardening, and plant conservation.

The five NSPP regions include:

  • Greater Golden Horseshoe West
  • Greater Golden Horseshoe East
  • Southwestern Ontario
  • Central-West
  • Eastern Ontario (facilitated by Canadian Wildlife Federation)

Interested in getting involved and/or joining the NSPP in your region? Read the Intention to Collaborate to learn more about participating in a regional NSPP and contact our team at seed@carolinian.org.
