Ecosystem Recovery Forum 2012More than 60 people participated in this year’s Ecosystem Recovery Forum focusing on a healthy and vibrant Lake Erie coast. Participants included conservation practitioners, municipal representatives, university academics, farmers, public health workers, tourism industry leaders and interested citizens. The setting of Port Stanley’s historic harbour was the perfect backdrop for discussing how “Big Picture” thinking, region-wide stewardship trail initiatives, smart municipal planning and savvy social marketing are linking conservation, outreach and ecotourism from one end of Lake Erie to the other. The success of the Forum was due in part to the many fantastic presentations from partners and practitioners from throughout the Great Lakes basin, as well as the stimulating discussions generated by the attendees.
