Vision and Impact of the ILP

Since its inception by Brandon Doxtator in 2018 and its subsequent expansion under Samantha Whiteye in 2022, the ILP has been at the forefront of promoting Indigenous leadership in conservation. Our mission goes beyond education—it's about reshaping conservation practices to honor traditional ecological knowledge and science together.

Why This Bursary is Vital

Our community consultations revealed a critical shortage of Indigenous professionals in environmental fields. This bursary directly addresses:

  • Capacity Building: Enhancing the skills and presence of Indigenous professionals in conservation.
  • Access to Education: Providing financial support to those who are the future of environmental stewardship.
  • Cultural Heritage: Naming the bursary in the Lunaape language, reinforcing the importance of Indigenous languages and knowledge.

Make a Lasting Impact

Your donation fuels this bursary, making education accessible and supporting the cultivation of future leaders who are ready to champion the health of our planet. By donating, you become part of a movement that values both ecological health and cultural integrity.
