Waawayaatanong

The Carolinian Zone is the land in Ontario found south of an imaginary line that runs approximately from Grand Bend to Toronto. This land is known by some First Nations as Waawayaatanong, which means “Round Lake” in reference to territory around Lake St. Clair. It is also known as Ecoregion 7E and the Carolinian Life Zone.
