Link Summary
This past month has been one of the hottest and driest on record in many parts of Canada, including southwestern Ontario. The effects on nature are widespread, whether it’s tree die-off, lowered water tables affecting aquatic species, or a variety of crops unable to withstand the conditions. It’s too early to conclude the long-term effects of this hot, dry season or the extent this signals climate change. One thing we do know is that areas with greater habitat withstand climate extremes better.
