Lesson 7: An Ideal Place

Through an art or design project, students will create a vision of what their ideal habitat would be.  Students will take an existing outdoor space such as their own backyard, schoolyard etc. and transform it into what they ideally vision as their perfect outdoor space.  Students will share their vision depending on their space chosen, with an adult such as a teacher or parent.  As a final step, they will together, develop some strategies of how to transform the space.

Lesson 8: Journal of Habits

Students will take a closer look at their own personal behaviour in their daily lives.  From their findings, they will develop a personal program and pledge to set some species at risk friendly lifestyle habits.  Students will track their progress as they try and implement their changes for themselves and as a family.

Lesson 9: Code of Conduct

After reviewing the concept of a code of conduct and reviewing an example from their school, students will work in groups to create their own code of conduct on how students should interact with SAR and their habitats.  Students will examine the role human’s currently play in the harm or destruction of SAR habitat and what they can do to protect it.
